Mike's Bikes Cat's Hill Classic Bicycle
Stop by any time of day and support your community by cheering for bike racers of all ages taking on the legendary Cat’s Hill climb! Bring your cowbells for the 47th annual edition of this classic American bicycle race, in the heart of Los Gatos. The Start/Finish line is at Tait and Nicholson for the 1-mile loop course. The middle of the course will feature a “festival” atmosphere with several tents hosted by local businesses, with event t-shirts and raffle tickets on sale. Many spots adjacent to the course will be spectator-friendly locations to see the racers zoom around the course at speeds reaching 40 MPH! Make sure to stop by with your young ones and their bikes (or striders, or trikes) at 12:15 PM for a free kid's race sponsored by Nicolette and Marlene from Sereno Real Estate. Location
The mile-long course starts at Tait and Nicholson Avenues near Mike's Bikes, rounds to Bean, Massol, then features a 23% grade up Nicholson Avenue, goes around Bachman Park, followed by a fast downhill (~50 mph!) and right turn, back to the start/finish on Tait Avenue. Some racers climb up Nicholson as many as 40 times during their race.
