The Chamber stands with the Town and supports its campaign Los Gatos United Against Hate. Join us in the Los Gatos Stands United Against Hate Walk on November 14 at 2pm. The walk begins at Fisher Middle School and ends at the Civic Center.
The Walk is part of United Against Hate Week, November 14-20 (www.unitedagainsthateweek.org), an effort organized by Not in Our Town with events all over the state. Not In Our Town launched in 1995 with a powerful PBS documentary about citizens in Billings, Montana standing in solidarity with Jewish, Black and Native American people who had experienced hate crimes. It is now a movement, empowering people everywhere to stand united against hate.
The Walk begins at RJ Fisher Middle School at 2pm.
Bring Creative Signs!
All are welcome to make signs expressing your message about inclusion to carry at the Walk. Creative chants also will make the walk spirited, but note that we will be following all Los Gatos ordinances and not be using megaphones or noise makers.
Parking, Restrooms & Safety
Parking for the Walk is available at Fisher Middle School, behind Fisher in the District Office parking lot off of Roberts Rd, at Van Meter Elementary School, Los Gatos Wines & Liquors, and street parking. It also may be convenient to park in the Los Gatos High School parking lots near the football field on New York Ave., leaving cars close to the ending point at the Civic Center.
Restrooms will be available at the Library and the NUMU New Museum.
Those choosing not to walk due to mobility or other issues are welcome to come directly to the Civic Center Lawn to join the brief program at the close of the Walk, around 3:15pm. The actual start time will be dependent on the pace of the Walk.
Los Gatos Police officers and volunteer Peace Keepers wearing bright vests will provide guidance along the route of the Walk for safety. Kindly follow their guidance. The roadway will be closed during the Walk, however participants are advised to stay on the sidewalks when returning to their cars.
