offers 2009 Trip to China
The Los Gatos Chamber of
Commerce is
thrilled to offer its members and the community
a unique opportunity to travel to
China with fellow business colleagues and
community members. From March 6-March
14, 2009, you will visit memorable sites,
both ancient and modern, and enjoy a
multitude of unforgettable experiences.
For
business travelers, there will be opportunities
to meet with business leaders in China
and learn how the Chinese business system
works.
We are convinced that this will be one
of
the most unique trips you will ever have
the opportunity to make. Please do not
wait too long to decide whether to accompany
us, as space is limited .
We are offering
an optional tour to Xi’An
to see the
famous Terra Cotta Warriors. Days 1-4 will
be the
same itinerary as the rest of the group.
On the
morning of Day 5 there will be a flight
to Xi’An. The
day you arrive enjoy sightseeing at the
Big Wild
Geese Pagoda and evening entertainment
of Tang
Style Dancing. Stay at the Grand Castle
Hotel. On
Day 6, board a bus to the Terra Cotta Warriors
at the
Tomb of the first Emperor of Qin Dynasty.
On the
way back visit the Huaqing Hot Spring Park
and
Banpo Museum, a preserved pre-historic
site. On
Day 7, fly to Shanghai to continue with
the rest of
our group. The additional
price for this adventure is $450 pp. No additional
charge for continuing with a single supplement.

You may upgrade your airfare
to business class
for an additional $4,500.
If you wish a single room for
the entire trip,
there will be an additional cost
of $450.
A non-refundable registration
fee of $200 per person
is required and due at the time you
register. This
will be deducted from your total tour
fare, the balance
of which will be due on December 15,
2008.
Securing or updating a passport is
your responsibility, and
you may take care of the required visa
yourself. However,
if you wish us to handle the visa application,
you will need
to provide us with your passport, a
signed visa application
form, two passport photos and $145
on January 5, 2009.
We will return your passport to you
in a timely manner.
PRE-TOUR
INFORMATION SESSION & BRIEFING:
An invaluable
introduction for all interested parties
will be held on Thursday, June
26 at 6 PM, at the Neighborhood
Center, 208 E. Main Street. At
the session CITSLINC
will answer all of your questions and
familiarize you with
details you will need to know. Chamber
representatives
are volunteers and will assist by collecting
passports, visa
applications, deposits & applications.

Day 1

- San Francisco/Beijing Board
a convenient charter bus in the morning, and
travel to San Francisco International Airport
for an afternoon flight to
Beijing. Your adventure begins as you fly trans-Pacific
aboard a wide cabin jetliner. Cross the International
Dateline. |
Day 5
3/10
-Beijing/Shanghai/Suzhou Morning flight
to Shanghai, then take the tour
bus trip to Suzhou. Evening Dinner Show of
the traditional Chinese Music. |
Day 2
3/7
- Beijing Arrive in Beijing, the Capital of China at
6:15pm. You will be met by your local tour
guide at the airport. Transfer to the hotel. |
Day 6
3/11
- Suzhou/Hangzhou Morning sightseeing
to the centuries old Lingering Garden, Tiger
Hill and Hanshan Temple. Visit to the National
Embroidery Institute to see silk embroidery,
an important local craft with 1,000 years
history. Afternoon tour bus journey to
Hangzhou. Visit to Economic Development
Zone. |
Day 3

Beijing Visit Tian An Men Square,
the largest square
in the world, and the Temple of Heaven,
built in 1420 A.D., where the emperors
prayed to the heaven for a good harvest
Sightseeing also includes the Palace
Museum, also known as the Forbidden City,
home of 24 emperors with a total space of
9,999 rooms, and the Summer Palace,
known for many significance such as the
Long Corridor with painted gallery, Kunming
Lake and Longevity Hill, Seventeen- Arch
Bridge and Marble Boat. |
Day 7

Hangzhou/Shanghai Morning boat cruise on West Lake with
relaxing stopover at jewel-like pagodas and
tea houses. Visit to the centuries old Lingyin
Temple, with the main feature of the 64.3 fthigh
camphor-wood carved Buddha.
Afternoon tour bus trip to Shanghai. |
Day 4
3/9
- Beijing Tour
bus excursion to the Great Wall, the
4,000- mile long and 2,000 years old
construction is said to be the only manmade
structure visible by naked eye from
the moon. Visit to the Ming Tombs, one of
13 Ming Emperors' Tombs is fully excavated
and open for exploration. Roasted Beijing
Duck Dinner. |
Day 8
3/13 - Sightseeing
includes the Yu garden, a maze of marvelous
pavilions, ponds, rocky works and over arching
trees.
Pay a visit to the Bund, a famous waterfront
park. Business
visit to the Pudong economic development zone. |

Day 9
3/14 - Shanghai/San
FranciscoDepart by a morning flight
with a stopover in Beijing on
our way back to San Francisco. We will arrive
the morning
of the same day we leave China. At SFO we
will be
met by a bus to drive us back to our central
meeting
location in Los Gatos.
